What prompted the BYU fans' shot at DeBerry
U.S. Air Force Academy football Coach Fisher DeBerry was reprimanded by Academy leaders Oct. 26 for statements he made during a post-game press conference the day before. During the press luncheon, Coach DeBerry told reporters, "It was very obvious to me the other day that [Texas Christian University] had a lot more African-American players than we did and they ran a lot faster than we did." He also said, "Afro-American kids can run very, very well. [TCU's] defense had 11 Afro-American kids on their team and they were a very good defensive football team."  BYU also has a predominantly Caucasian football team, which is wht BYU fans took advantage of DeBerry's unintelligent comments.
